A glimpse at SCA

Superb Catalyst Academy (SCA) is a “Catalyst for Sound Education”. An inspiring project to provide education to all through an English medium school in Dhading.

Founded in 2007 by Ajay Rimal, Superb Catalyst Academy is a vision of Ajay’s to create a lively, vibrant, happy and safe community for learning; where everybody is treated equally and can strive to reach their full potential in and out of the classroom.

The Academy is currently running with 250 students from nursery to class 10, age 4-18. Over the last two years we have been building and developing new classrooms in Khanikhola, a more centralised and reliable location for our school community. This has all been made possible with the continuous hard work and dedication of our volunteers.

The Academy still faces many struggles to provide simple facilities to its students. However, despite the hardships, the Academy has clear dedicated priorities – the student’s development. At SCA, we have an uncompromising commitment to deliver what is best for our students. It is our aim to offer students an environment that promotes enjoyment in learning. We work to ensure superb achievements with a rounded curriculum that gives all students a balanced education by promoting their spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development in order to prepare them for a successful life. In addition, we provide a wide range of opportunities in sports – Wushu Martial Arts, creativity, music, scouts and service to the community.

Creating a well-balanced Academy with little financial backing is both an exciting and challenging experience. It requires a determination to succeed where others have failed. This determination remains as strong as ever, and we strive against all odds to deliver a high standard of education to all students irrespective of their religion, caste or community, thereby acting as a catalyst for the development of the wider community.

At the Superb Catalyst Academy, we give our students the tools to unlock their potential with a carefully thought-out curriculum. The teaching is designed to fulfil not just the educational needs of our students, but also their interests, connections with other cultures, development of language, and their psychological and spiritual well-being.

We welcome volunteers to come and share their skills and experiences with us. If you would like to donate to us in any way; giving your time, ideas, old books, school furniture or equipment please contact us. Thank you very much for your kind cooperation.
